** DJL FLOATS - FUTURE UPDATE **
As many of you will know, I was close to having to pack in with my float making nearly 2 years ago, in which I put a facebook post out stating this and at the time, the reasons behind this decision was kept private, in which only the people who knew me well were aware of the situation, thankfully however, I was able to continue, although on a much smaller scale, leading to very few new products being made available for sale.
Now thankfully, I am able to give an update on the future of my business, whilst also sharing my partners post, showing the reasons behind what Jenna, and us as a family, have gone through.
Please give this a read as Jenna would like this to be shared to encourage any other Women who are going through anything similar, to get checked out and to trust their own instinct when it comes to their own bodies.
This is NOT a sob story, and the details are only being made public now after we have received GOOD news and that Jenna is now on the road to recovery.
As you can see, Jenna has gone through an awful lot in the last couple of years, this led me to having to take a step back from making my floats, meaning that there has been very little of my work listed, including new products and original stock but thankfully that is now about to change.
I have put absolutely everything into my work over the past 7 years, in which working 16 hour days, almost everyday of the week was the norm for me, although it doesnt seem like work when you are doing something you love and creating little pieces of art aswel as running my own website, Ebay, Amazon and Etsy shops plus all of my social media channels and I cant wait to get back to doing this again.
As you will be aware, I have offered multiple sale events and discounts over the past 12 months or so, this has been my way of apologising to my regular customers due to the lack of new products being listed, as this changes and more products are listed over the coming months, these sale events will become less frequent although there will be the occasional sale event listed but much less frequently, in the meantime, I have a current sale event listed of 30% discount, this will come to an end on September 7th.
Over the next few weeks and months, I will begin starting to list multiple new products to my website and ebay store, ranging my earlier, more basic products to some brand new, beautifuly made and superb products, in which I will be proud to sell.
I will also be creating and selling variations of float boxes and gift sets, leading up to Christmas, with many more products coming in the near future now that I am able to get back to my work on a full time basis.
I would like to that everyone who has continued to purchase products from me over the past 2 years, ranging from in-stock products to made to order items, this has been a help as we pulled through a difficult time.
When I began float making, I literally started from scratch, in which some of my earlier floats that I made were embarassingly bad, literally learning as I went along, in which I am now immensely proud of the products that I make.
I have also always tried to provide advice to my fellow float makers, in which alot of people have contacted asking for advice and help, in which I have always been happy to help and is part of the reason I created the group on facebook - 'THE ART OF FLOAT MAKING', this is becoming more and more popular by the week, so thank you to everyone who supports this group too.
Finally, I simply would not be doing any of this now if it wasnt for my partner Jenna, the support she has shown me has been unbelievable, particularly in the early days when my float making skills were terrible, I am so happy and relieved that she is now on the mend and hopefully to a better future together.

Here I sell beautifully made, handcrafted fishing floats & other handmade fishing tackle.
All of my floats are 100% handmade and have been created from the best materials available, this also includes materials that have been gathered by myself when searching natural areas local to me.
All of my floats have been meticulously prepared before any work has even begun, this includes sanding and multiple coatings of sealer, this adds to a top quality finish which not only look beautiful, but are incredibly strong & durable.
The floats are expertly whipped using the highest quality, fine silk thread, before each float is individually painted and sealed with multiple coatings of Lacquer.
The majority of my floats can also be inscribed with a name, this makes these floats an ideal gift for any angler, young or old, if this is something that you would like, simply add your request in the 'custom text' option or simply drop me a message & I will be happy to help.
